Parks and Recreation
Clinton County offers many parks to enjoy, the largest number being in St. Johns. The City of St. Johns park system consists of over 137 acres of land with numerous amenities including nine tennis courts, two softball fields, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, a sledding hill, an ice rink, public restrooms and more. Pavilions and a new performance shell are available for special occasions.
A recent addition to the city park is the Fantasy Forest Playground, a wooden structure play area offering new and innovative opportunities for area children.
Another addition to the park is a brand new performance shell. Each summer the Clinton County Arts Council hosts a summer Music in the Park series. The performances are held at the performance shell on Wednesday evenings and are free to the public.
Spring and Summer recreational programs include flag football, tennis lessons and leagues, roller hockey, swim lessons, open swim and water aerobics, nature day camps, golf lessons, composting class, softball, t-ball and parent-tot activity hour. Fall and winter programs include punt, pass and kick, bus trips, softball, open gym, hoopshoot and chess club.
